Battle monsters, make crucial choices, and uncover Samomor's secrets to find your missing friend.

In "Into Samomor," your decisions not only affect your fate but also that of other characters. Choose wisely, as the survival or demise of others depends on your choices. Be prepared to face the consequences.

The game offers a balanced combat system featuring a variety of weapons like knives and bows.

Team up with a loyal dog or tame the monsters of the forest, but at a great cost.

You're not limited to the main storyline; explore hidden areas, solve puzzles, and seek answers to questions as you journey through Samomor.

Battle against creatures and harvest their DNA. Each DNA sample you integrate grants you a special ability to tackle challenges.

The Story:

In the quaint town of Samomor, a resident disappears without a trace every year. They all had one thing in common: they were last spotted standing before the Samomor Forest on the day they went missing. After nearly a year of tranquility, the time has come for a new disappearance. However, this time, an unexpected twist will change the course of events. A force from another world and a teenager will team up to solve what's behind it all.

Features:

  • A dark, enigmatic story featuring unexpected twists and turns.
  • NPCs aren't just scenery; their disappearance will alter the game world.
  • Exercise your free will: choose to obey or defy orders that shape your path.
  • Simple yet deep combat, laced with unique skills.
  • Forge unlikely alliances with forest creatures.
  • Dark humor that'll catch you off guard.
  • Body horror elements for unsettling scares; no jumpscares included.

i know there's another way but has anyone managed to defeat the monster in combat?

A streamer managed to defeat that after a lot of defeats hahaha.

I have started playing this and have gotten a bit into the forest, will be finishing this but not today though! I have some early notes for you:

- Music, sfx and visual art are pretty much perfect, its so good I feel jealous.

- Story seems to be well thought out and interesting.

- The theme and mood is great.

- The dog is a good dog.

- Combat feels really good.

Now for some constructive feedback:

- You really need to have someone look over the English translation, while it gets the points across the text feels clunky and unnatural, even more so the dialogue.

- The standard rpgmaker emotion balloons do not fit with the rest of the exemplary good artstyle.

- The loading of text into the textboxes needs to be looked over, at least in the english version. Sometimes a single letter will be left over for the next box and often the text is being cut in a weird way.

Bugs:

- Door in first scene is misaligned.

- Graphical glitching on the sofa in first scene.

- Friend in first scene disappears if you talk to him from below.

- I entered the kitchen before I was supposed to and the game crashed. Tried it one more time and it worked.

- You can get stuck in the "invisible wall" in the forest and lock your game.

- Talkbubble was still active in parasiteboss.

- Talkbubbles appear next to characters in first scene even when you cant talk to them.

Looking forward to continuing my playthrough tomorrow!

Oh dang, and I thought it was bug-free. You're helping me a lot, thank you. For the English translation, I'm aware of that but I think I'll need help from a native English speaker if I want the translation to be perfect. Looking forward to hearing more of your feedback. 🙏🏻

Same problem in browser version, maybe you pushed an update and forgot to change something my guy?

Yeah, it sometimes happens. The Steam version worked fine but I don't remember what change I made that got the Itch version bugged with that error. I'll update the Itch demo version soon. Thank you for letting me know.

Got an error immediately after starting the game, right after confirming the difficulty.

Error

Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'resolution' of null.

This pops up in my game too sometimes when i dev in rpgmaker, usually if I am trying to switch between showing something too quickly (frames) or if something like a soundeffect has been added but not defined. I will see if the browser version works for me. My computer is pure shit, so it might not be a problem on your end.
