Version 1.4.0 has been released!


A huge update is here, and this one brings not only new features but also a lot of bug fixes and performance optimization! Please watch the trailer and read all the changes below.

New Features

  • Hotbar: Added drag-and-drop snapping guidelines for easier customization.
  • Animation Solution: Supports 8-directional movement and 8-directional sprite rendering.
  • Movement Route Commands: All commands related to character turning now support full 8-directional rotation.
  • Command: Spawn Event: Added "Player Direction" rotation option, aligning the spawned event with the player's direction.
  • Command: Spawn Event: "Spawn in Front" now supports all 8 directions.
  • Command: Dynamic Event: Added initial rotation option, including "Player" to align with the player's direction.
  • Command: Dynamic Event: New toggle option to make the event follow a specified target.
  • New Command: Time Freeze: Pauses in-game time.
  • Conditional Branch: Added check for the player's current direction.
  • Conditional Branch: Added check for the player's equipped armor (head, body, accessory, etc.).
  • Script: New script to retrieve the player's current direction.
  • Demo: Added new maps to showcase 8-directional movement, collision rectangle expansion, and more.
  • Solo Player Menu: When using an item or skill that targets the user, it now applies immediately without opening the character selection window.
  • Miss SFX: Added sound effect for missed attacks.
  • Critical Rate: Adjusted critical hit damage multiplier.

Bug Fixes

  • Animation Solution: Fixed issue where idle, move, and run animations failed to load when running the game in a browser.
  • Hotbar Creator: Fixed issue where JSON file positions were unreadable in a browser.
  • HUD: Fixed issue where JSON file positions were unreadable in a browser.
  • "Whatever You’re Doing, Stop!" Command: No longer interferes with all events on the game map.
  • Spawn Event: Fixed issue where events could spawn on impassable tiles despite being set as impassable.
  • Command: Event Animation Effect: Fixed Bounce and Shake effects moving incorrectly with the screen.
  • Debug 0 (Collision Rect): Fixed visual misalignment with the actual collision rectangle of events.
  • Demo: Fixed enemy NPC attack behavior on maps. Enemies no longer attack defeated NPCs.
  • Command: Delete Regular Event: Fixed issue where the tile under a deleted event remained impassable.

Adjustments

  • Z-Index: Aligned the Z-index of swinging weapons to match the player's.
  • Movement Route: MoveToClosest: Now supports targeting the "Player."
  • Performance Optimization:
    • Improved clickable event handling.
    • Optimized block and wall interactions.
    • Simplified <hp> bars to use solid color fills instead of gradients.
    • Enhanced inViewport conditional branch performance.
  • Removed: CheckRange condition branch cache feature due to gameplay bugs.
  • Demo Adjustments:
    • Added two new spells: Fire Dagger (8-directional) and Snowflake (8-directional).
    • Improved visuals for HUD, Fire Disc, and Snowflake skills.
  • Movement Route:
    • turnToward, moveToPosition, and rotateTo no longer support cursor or right-stick inputs. Mouse or gamepad now handles these automatically.
  • Command: Spawn Event: Removed cursor and right-stick support for rotation. Mouse or gamepad now handles this automatically.
  • Hotbar: Changed JSON save file location to the js folder.
  • Plugin Parameters: Reorganized for better clarity and usability.
